2013-2014 Measurement Invariance

In the fall semester of 2013-2014 academic year, workshops titled Use of MAXQDA Program in Qualitative Data Analysis by research assistant  Zeynep Kurnaz (Hacettepe University) and Standarts Setting Methods by Instructor Dr. Sevda Çetin (Hacettepe University) were held. In addition, conferences titled Scale Development and Adaptation by Prof. Dr. Selahattin GELBAL (Hacettepe University), Computerized Adaptive Testing by Prof. Dr. Hülya KELECİOĞLU (Hacettepe University) and E-Assessment by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil YURDUGÜL (Hacettepe University) were held.

We thank Miss. Dr. KURNAZ for this informative and pleasant workshop; Miss. Dr. ÇETİN for using such a short period very productively; Mr. Dr. GELBAL for sharing his rich knowledge with us; Miss Dr. KELECİOĞLU for introducing us with one of the popular topics of present day and Mr. Dr. YURDUGÜL for sharing his current knowledge about e-assessment with us. We also thank our students and academic personnel and dear guests from different universities and institutions

Use of MAXQDA Program in Qualitative Data Analysis

A workshop on Use of MAXQDA Program in Qualitative Data Analysis, hosted by our faculty, was held within the frame of scientific activities of Measurement and Evaluation in Education Department on 28^th September 2013, Saturday. The workshop held by research assistant Zeynep KURNAZ from Hacettepe University started with a brief introduction of qualitative data analysis methods. In the workshop, the MAXQDA Program one of the computer programs which make easier to analyse the qualitative data was introduced, and its use was held in detail. It ended with the practice of data analysis. 

Standarts Setting Methods

A workshop on Standards Setting Methods was held on the scope of October scientific activities of Measurement and Evaluation in Education Department on 22^nd October, 2013. The basic concepts of a standard setting study and detailed information related to the main standard setting methods took part in the workshop under the leadership of Instructor Dr. Sevda Çetin (Hacettepe University). 

Scale Development and Adaptation Process 

A conference on Scale Development and Adaptation Process was held by Prof. Dr. Selahattin GELBAL (Hacettepe University) within the frame of our scientific activities on 19^th November 2013. The conference started with the reasons for scale development or adaptation, decision process of adaptation or development studies. The process of scale development and adaptation was held in detail.

Individualized Computer Adaptive Testing

Individualized Computer Adaptive Testing is one of the topics gaining importance in the field of Measurement and Evaluation in Education. A conference, hosted by our faculty, titled Individualized Computer Adaptive Testing was held by Prof. Dr. Hülya KELECİOĞLU (Hacettepe University) within the frame of our scientific activities on 17^th December, 2013. What is meant by “individualized testing” was emphasized within the conference held by Prof. Dr. Hülya KELECİOĞLU, one of the worthy academic members of Hacettepe University. Since the topic of interest was held on the basis of Item Response Theory, the audience were reminded about the  basic features of the theory. Introducing to Individualized Computer Adaptive Testing, four important steps called starting rule, ability estimation, proceeding rule and stoping rule were explained in detail. She completed her speech answering the questions of the audience conscientiously.

E-Assessment

A conference,hosted by our faculty, titled E-Assessment was held by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil YURDUGÜL (Hacettepe University) within the frame of our scientific activites in the field of Measurement and Assessment in Education on 11^st December 2014, Tuesday. The conference starting with emphasizing the concept of assessment went on explaining the mean of e-assessment concept and what was done in this topic in the past in detail. Current practices were introduced mentioning what is done internationally on the scope of e-assessment nowadays.
